Pouf stays tense at first — he is downwind of Gon and Pitou — then acquiesces, deferring to Pitou. But Gon stops him and reveals the scales: he can manipulate people. Pitou begs Pouf to obey; Pouf is surprised they care so much about Komugi. And on the other side, the King confesses: most humans are merely livestock — but a few deserve to live.
